Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Male Behaviour Mentor to support students within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in St John's Wood. This vital role involves working with young people who face challenges in mainstream education, providing them with the guidance and support they need to achieve personal growth and educational success.

About the Role
  1. Support Student Behaviour: Build strong relationships to encourage students to engage in their education and develop confidence in their abilities. Help students develop social, emotional, and problem-solving skills through structured activities and mentoring. Work closely with teachers, pastoral teams, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
  2. Experienced: While previous experience in education, youth work, or a similar setting is advantageous, we are open to applications from individuals with transferable skills and a passion for working with young people. You understand the importance of safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
About the Setting

The PRU provides tailored education for students who have experienced challenges in mainstream school. It is a structured and supportive environment focused on helping students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence, and achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents to promote student well-being and achievement.
  • Design and deliver engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits package including ongoing training and development opportunities, access to resources and equipment, and a supportive team environment.
