About the Role:
BROOK STREET RECRUITMENT is excited to represent a fast-growing client in the food retail industry based in Chertsey. They're on the lookout for an experienced and driven Accounts / Bookkeeping Assistant to support their expanding finance team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic organisation, handling essential day-to-day financial functions to support their growth.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain sales and purchase ledgers
Perform bank and cash reconciliations
Prepare supplier payments and weekly financial reports
Handle credit card and petty cash recording and reconciliation
Process staff expenses, providing support with ad hoc analytical reports and projects as required

Experience & Skills Required:

Experience:
Minimum 2 years as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Assistant, ideally within a multi-department or multi-site organisation

Software:
Proficiency in Xero or Sage Line 50 (Datamolino knowledge is beneficial but not essential)

Qualifications:
Part-qualified or actively studying towards accountancy exams preferred

Skills:
Strong PC skills, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); excellent time management and attention to detail

Personal Qualities:
Enthusiastic, proactive, and confident with a strong work ethic
A team player with a desire to grow within a supportive, expanding business
Flexible and adaptable with excellent communication skills
Able to handle changing priorities and meet deadlines
