Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Attendant to join our team at Lancashire County Council. As a key member of our transportation services, you will be responsible for transporting and assisting passengers with disabilities and sensory impairments in a safe, caring, and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transport passengers in a safe and caring manner, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the journey.
  • Provide care duties associated with transport services, including assisting passengers to prepare for the journey and ensuring their safe and comfortable transfer to and from the vehicle.
  • Ensure passengers reach their destination safely on group trips, working collaboratively with the Passenger Assistant (where provided) to deliver the service.
  • Operate the vehicle passenger lift to enable passengers to board and alight from the vehicle, ensuring the safe application of seatbelts, wheelchair clamps, and straps.
  • Carry out vehicle checks, fuelling, and cleaning as required by Integrated Transport procedures, and complete records as necessary.
  • Undertake other driving and attendant duties as required, contributing to the smooth operation of our transportation services.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with passengers and colleagues. You will also require a valid driving license and the ability to work flexible hours, including split shifts.
