Position: Part-Time Temporary Court Usher
Contract Duration: 3 months with potential for extension
Working Hours: 22.5 hours per week across 3 days
Hourly Rate: £11.44

Job Responsibilities:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Court Usher to join our team in Lancaster. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training. Key responsibilities include:

  • Transporting and delivering essential documents to the judiciary and clerks, ensuring all necessary materials are available.
  • Providing assistance to colleagues and judiciary outside of court sessions.
  • Facilitating court hearings through various means, including video links.
  • Preparing venues for hearings, trials, and meetings, and ensuring the courtroom is tidy at the end of the day.
  • Coordinating and supporting the logistics of court hearings.
  • Offering assistance to the public attending hearings.
  • Performing general administrative tasks such as filing, printing, and data entry.

Candidate Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • Strong customer service abilities and confidence in interacting with the public.
  • Excellent administrative skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
