About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Deployment Officer at HMP Rye Hill. The successful candidate will support the centralised roster function and ensure that the operational needs of the prison are achieved through the efficient utilisation of operational staff. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for profiling resource requirements and building rosters to ensure all operational staff resources are effectively deployed.

Responsibilities and Requirements:

  • Profile resource requirements and build rosters to ensure all operational staff resources are effectively deployed.
  • Oversee the use of the Kronos system to ensure accurate records are maintained and it is used efficiently and effectively throughout the prison.
  • Implement and oversee the deployment of staff to planned training activity in accordance with the Training Plan to meet contractual requirements.
  • Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture to achieve and maintain recognition as a British Safety Council 5 Star business unit.
  • Ensure the maintenance of security within the prison environment by compliance with security instructions.
  • Search Vehicles, Occupants of Vehicles, Visitors and their property on access or egress through the prison lock, using Technical Aids, to ensure the Security of the Prison is maintained.
  • Participate with Internal and External Vehicle Escorts and Patrols where necessary, wearing the correct High Visibility PPE ensuring compliance with Contractual Requirements.
  • Monitor and operate CCTV Cameras (including Visits CCTV), and Radio Network in line with relevant procedures to maintain Prison Security.
