Nurse Position in Rehabilitation and Complex Discharge Management

Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our team at Bicester Community Hospital for a full-time fixed-term role of 12 months to cover maternity leave.
The ward provides rehabilitation and complex discharge management services, caring for patients with a wide range of conditions, including those from medical, trauma, renal, and surgical wards.
As a Registered Nurse, you will be an integral part of our multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to provide high standards of patient care. You will have the opportunity to utilise and grow your nursing skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Our ward is a great place to work, with a lovely outdoor garden space for patients and staff to enjoy. We offer a full-time role with internal shift rotation and a comprehensive induction process to support your transition into the role.
Main Responsibilities
- Supervise and support ward staff in their day-to-day work and development, promoting interdisciplinary team working.
- Provide information, training, and support to promote effective patient care and discharge from the ward area.
- Lead Healthcare Assistants and peers to ensure a high standard of patient-centred care.
- Contribute to the monitoring and auditing of standards of care in the ward area under the direction of the Ward Manager.
- Attend multidisciplinary team meetings to share key issues across the ward team.
- Work proactively as the ward and bed coordinator to ensure adequate staffing levels are maintained.
- Be visible and accessible to patients, relatives, and colleagues to work effectively within the team.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Current NMC RN Level One or due to qualify following completion of a University degree.
- Evidence of ongoing development and education.
Essential Criteria
- Rehabilitation skills.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams and other professionals.
- Ability to demonstrate potential for management and leadership.
Desirable Criteria
- Teaching experience and qualifications.
- Community experience.
- Familiarity with clinical supervision.
Skills
- Flexible approach to working.
- Able to cope with the physical demands of the role.
- Appointment to this post is subject to the Trust receiving satisfactory references covering 3 years of employment or study.
