Flight Test Engineer Instructor Opportunity

At QinetiQ, we are committed to leading the field in aviation innovation. We are seeking an experienced and qualified Fixed Wing Flight Test Engineer to join our ETPS team of instructors at MOD Boscombe Down.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction on a wide range of topics to aspiring flight test professionals.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation within the team of highly qualified Flight Test Engineer Instructors, Test Pilot instructors, and Theoretical Knowledge Instructors.
  • Assess and grade ETPS student flying and technical reports, as well as mentor and provide constructive debriefing/feedback.
  • Support and enhance flight safety and student learning.
Requirements
  • Engineering or Science degree coupled with at least 3 years actively working as a LFTE or equivalent on a range of significant modern fixed wing flight test programmes.
  • Broad and extensive experience within the flight test community and experience of using synthetics and simulation in flight test programmes.
  • Ability to teach on the ground and instruct in the air, with the ability to clarify subject material that is inherently complex.
  • Sound knowledge of aircraft performance, systems, stability & control, and their testing, together with skilled use of typical software for the analysis and reporting of data in the flight test environment.
  • Experience of the UK MoD's Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT).
