About the Role

The Aviation Engineering Team Lead will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the planning, execution, and delivery of complex projects within the Aviation Engineering Centre (AEC). The AEC is a leading industry player in aircraft modification, test and evaluation, design, production, and flight-test capability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership to diverse teams of engineers, each specializing in different engineering disciplines, to successfully deliver complex projects or products.
  • Deliver key leadership and line management capability to a diverse team of multi-disciplinary engineers.
  • Ensure that team members' skills are being effectively utilized.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of complex projects, which are key to the AEC.
  • Develop an effective environment that facilitates vibrant and collaborative working within the team.
  • Deliver programs by performing a variety of project, bid, and investment tasks and providing technical expertise and experienced engineering support.

Requirements

  • Extensive engineering leadership and management experience.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and previous experience developing engineering capability.
  • Awareness or appreciation of Systems Engineering/Project Management principles to support the delivery of complex projects from concept to completion.
  • Demonstrable experience working within the Aerospace Engineering industry and Technical Leadership background.
  • Awareness of civilian and/or military aircraft platforms and relevant regulations.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer status or equivalent experience within a relevant role.
  • Aircraft Modification Certification (Part 21/DAOS).
