We are a medical centre based in Huyton, providing healthcare services to approximately 4000 patients. As a Medical Reception Team Member, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient administration of our practice.

Our team is dedicated to delivering high-quality patient care and we take pride in our commitment to training GPs, Foundation Doctors, and Medical Students. We offer both Face to Face and Telephone Consultations.

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Practice Administration Assistant. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to our busy GP surgery, handling patient enquiries, appointments, and data entry with precision and accuracy.

As a GP Surgery Front Desk Officer, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, making a positive impression and setting the tone for their experience within our practice. You will be responsible for managing patient arrivals, answering general enquiries, and maintaining confidentiality while working accurately on computerized systems.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, be proactive, and have experience in dealing with the public. A Disclosure and Barring Service Check will be required due to the nature of this role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Reception and routing of patients on arrival
  • Answering general enquiries, explaining surgery procedures, making new and follow-up appointments
  • Maintaining confidentiality while working on computerized systems
  • Sorting and distributing incoming mail
  • Ensuring Doctor/Nurse patient call system is in working order
  • Recording requests for home visits
  • Booking ambulances for patient hospital appointments or admissions
  • Taking requests for repeat prescriptions
