The successful candidate will be responsible for deputising for the Accountable Officer for the Ayrshire Growth and promoting excellent financial management practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with expertise in safeguarding public money and ensuring its effective use. They will work closely with the Corporate Service Support Plan and the Community Plan to deliver key objectives and promote integrated financial management strategies.

As a key member of the East Ayrshire Council team, the Chief Financial Management Officer will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the proper administration of financial affairs
  • Deputising for the Accountable Officer for the Ayrshire Growth
  • Promoting excellent financial management practices
  • Safeguarding public money and ensuring its effective use

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two relevant references, one from their current or most recent employer, and will meet the national guidance on pre-employment checks.

We estimate that this role attracts a salary in the range of £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. As a leading local authority, we offer a competitive package including benefits such as pension scheme, annual leave entitlement, and training opportunities.
