About the Role

Sebastian's Action Trust is seeking an experienced Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser to join our dedicated fundraising team. The successful candidate will lead the development and implementation of fundraising initiatives, activities, and campaigns focused on building relationships with trusts, foundations, and statutory partners.

Main Responsibilities

  • Strategic Fundraising
    • Develop and implement a trust fundraising plan and pipeline, assessing the proximity and likelihood of every prospect in the pipeline.
    • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts, including grants officers, trustees, and commissioners.
  • Grant Writing and Reporting
    • Write and submit high-quality grant proposals to trusts and foundations, with a focus on building lasting relationships and securing new income.
    • Develop and implement a system for tracking and reporting on grant progress, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to funders.
  • Relationship Building and Management
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including trustees, commissioners, and other external partners.
    • Utilize the donor database to manage existing and new relationships, ensuring all communications preferences and records are kept up-to-date.
  • Operational Planning and Reporting
    • Create operational plans for trusts and foundations fundraising, monitoring, and adaptive strategies as required.
    • Provide regular management reporting of progress against financial targets and suggest contingency activities to make up for income shortfalls.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in fundraising within the charity sector, with a proven track record of success in securing new income through applications and bids.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-management skills, with the ability to clearly and simply convey concepts and inspire others to contribute.
  • Strong skills in analysis and project management, with the ability to take a concept from the service team and work with them to coach them to convert the idea into a fundable and deliverable project.
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills, with the ability to produce high-quality grant proposals and reports.
  • Financially literate, with the ability to produce and understand budgets and to analyze and report financial performance.
