Assistant Psychologist

About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) Team. As an Assistant Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing psychological assessments and interventions to individuals coming into contact with the criminal justice system.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Principal Psychologist and clinical lead in the development and evaluation of new MHTR service delivery models.
- Undertake psychological assessments and interventions of service users, working autonomously and collaboratively with other disciplines.
- Formulate and deliver care plans addressing service users' psychological needs.
- Communicate and liaise with criminal justice colleagues and partners to ensure effective service delivery.
- Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings to discuss service user care.
- Provide advice, guidance, and support to service users to enhance awareness of their psychological needs.
- Contribute to the audit process within the service delivery model.

Person Specification
- Good Honours undergraduate degree in Psychology.
- Experience of working with adults or older adults with mental health difficulties.
- Postgraduate or additional qualification in a psychology-related discipline or subject.
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Relevant experience in psychological difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
- Experience of working with people within mental health services.
- Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively.
