About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) Team. As an integral member of our team, you will play a key role in providing psychological assessments and interventions to individuals coming into contact with the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Principal Psychologist and clinical lead in the development and evaluation of new MHTR service delivery models.
  • Undertake psychological assessments and interventions, working autonomously while collaborating with other disciplines and criminal justice partners.
  • Formulate and deliver care plans addressing service users' psychological needs.
  • Communicate and liaise with other professionals involved in service users' care, including criminal justice colleagues and partners.
  • Attend and contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, providing advice and guidance to service users.
  • Support and contribute to the audit process within the service delivery model.
Requirements
  • Good Honours undergraduate degree in Psychology.
  • Experience working with adults or older adults with mental health difficulties.
  • Postgraduate or additional qualification in a psychology-related discipline or subject.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey complex information to clients and professionals.
  • Understanding of confidentiality in a mental health context.
  • Ability to function autonomously, with suitable supervision.
  • Relevant experience in psychological difficulties such as anxiety and depression.
  • Experience working with people in mental health services and collaborating with other professional groups.
  • Ability to use clinical supervision and personal development positively and effectively.
  • Car driver with access to independent transport for work purposes and willingness to travel throughout the organisation.
