Role Overview
Academics is seeking a Mental Health Support Specialist to join their team in Newbury. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in psychology and a passion for supporting young people with complex needs.
The successful applicant will work alongside the support staff and on-site professionals to provide students with 1-1 support and attention throughout the school day. This role is perfect for graduates looking for an entry point into the industry.
We estimate the salary for this position to be around £25,000 - £30,000 per annum.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide students with 1-1 support and attention throughout the school day
- Work alongside the support staff and on-site professionals to develop an understanding of additional needs and how to support children facing challenges while in education
- Develop emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in seeing pupils succeed
Requirements
- Degree in a relevant field such as criminology or psychology
- Emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in seeing pupils succeed
- Ability to work under own initiative and as part of a team
