Radioactive Waste Sentinel

We are recruiting for a Radioactive Waste Sentinel to join our team at AWE Plc. This is a 12 month fixed term contract with a salary of £36,540 - £43,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will be based at our site in RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke. You will play a key role in ensuring the safe and efficient management of radioactive waste.
About the RoleThe Radioactive Waste Sentinel will be responsible for identifying and assessing any assay necessary to support radioactive waste sentencing as well as identifying waste suitability for external consignment via existing routes under an established framework contract.
You will work closely with our waste management team to ensure that all radioactive waste is handled and disposed of safely and efficiently.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A working knowledge of hazardous waste operations
- Experience utilising a database to interpret and manipulate information
Prior experience of working with nuclear waste would be beneficial but is not essential.
