Radiological Waste Management Specialist

Are you looking for a challenging role in waste management? We are currently recruiting for a Radiological Waste Management Specialist to join our team at AWE Plc.
This is a 12 month fixed term contract with a salary of £36,540 - £43,000 per annum, depending on experience. You will be based at our site in RG7 4PR, located between Reading and Basingstoke.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced individual to manage the review, sentencing, recording and consignment of radioactive solid and non-aqueous waste on behalf of the company. This will involve liaising with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate compliance with third party waste acceptance criteria.
You will also be responsible for coordinating resources and governance bodies to realise the export of radioactive waste whilst ensuring AWE remains within its permits and authorisations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage the review, sentencing, recording and consignment of radioactive solid and non-aqueous waste
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate compliance with third party waste acceptance criteria
- Coordinate resources and governance bodies to realise the export of radioactive waste
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A working knowledge of hazardous waste operations
- Experience utilising a database to interpret and manipulate information
Prior experience of working with nuclear waste would be beneficial but is not essential.
