Radiological Waste Coordinator

AWE Plc is currently looking for a skilled individual to fill the position of Radiological Waste Coordinator.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing the review, sentencing, recording, and consignment of radioactive solid and non-aqueous waste on behalf of the company.
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage the review and sentencing of radioactive waste to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to demonstrate compliance with third-party waste acceptance criteria.
- Work closely with the RA Waste Operations Manager to optimize waste management services in line with regulatory and business requirements.
To succeed in this role, you will require working knowledge of hazardous waste operations, experience utilizing databases to interpret and manipulate information, and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
AWE offers a competitive salary, estimated to be around £48,000-£58,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience. Benefits include a 9-day working fortnight, 270 hours of annual leave, and a contributory pension scheme.
A good understanding of applying rigorous safety and quality cultures to practical demands is essential for this role. You will also need to have initiative, enthusiasm, a flexible approach, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
