An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NEC team as a Diabetic Eye Screener, covering clinics throughout the area.
About the Role
As a screener, you will be responsible for running local clinics for patients and photographing their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy. You will need to be empathetic and able to communicate effectively with patients on a daily basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Run local clinics for patients and photograph their eyes to assess for diabetic retinopathy
- Communicate effectively with patients and provide excellent customer service
- Work independently in a pressured environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively
- Support patients in understanding their eye health and providing guidance on next steps
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care
Requirements
- Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills
- Willingness to learn and complete necessary qualifications
- Organized and able to prioritize tasks
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure
- Previous experience working with the public is ideal
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs including grades A-C in English, Maths, and a Science subject or equivalent
- A full driving licence and own transport
