Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Firearms Enquiry Officer to join our team in the Firearms, Shotguns and Explosive Licensing Section. As a Firearms Enquiry Officer, you will be responsible for interviewing applicants, assessing their suitability to hold firearms certificates, and making recommendations in accordance with national and Essex Police policy and legislative requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough interviews with applicants to assess their suitability to hold firearms certificates
- Assess applicants' family circumstances, domestic harmony, personal habits, and other factors that may raise concerns over their suitability
- Apply professional curiosity and identify clues that indicate risk
- Make sound objective recommendations in accordance with national and Essex Police policy and legislative requirements
- Work closely with other teams to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements:
- Able to demonstrate a sound knowledge of interview planning and significant interview experience for information-gathering purposes
- A full UK driving licence is essential
