Clinical Nurse Specialist Outpatients

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly professional and motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic, forward-thinking multi-specialty Outpatient Team at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust.
Main Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate programmes of evidenced-based nursing care to a group of patients.
- Actively contribute to setting and maintaining high standards of quality nursing care.
- Act as Nurse in Charge, coordinating shifts daily, supporting all members of the Outpatients team.
- Act as a clinical and professional role model, assessing and supporting students and learners on placement within the clinical area.
- Perform the necessary clinical procedures, blood taking, wound dressings, and other tasks appropriate to the clinical speciality, following training and competency assessment as required.
This role can involve frequent walking and standing for long periods of time. The post holder must have the physical capability to use manual handling equipment, hoists, trolleys, and wheelchairs.
You will be supported and encouraged to undertake training to ensure you are competent in a variety of clinics within the Outpatient Department, including undertaking training to become a Light Therapist and other nurse-led clinics as in line with service demand.

Person SpecificationTraining and Qualifications
- Valid NMC registration.
Desirable
- Has successfully completed an NMC-approved teaching and assessing or Practice Assessor programme.
Driving License
- Must hold a full UK driving license.
Communication and Relationship Skills
- Demonstrates the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships with colleagues.
- Demonstrates a basic knowledge of IT.
Clinical Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
- Demonstrates an understanding of the importance of delivering high-quality clinical nursing care.
Desirable
- Previous experience working within an outpatient setting.
