At Cavendish Nuclear, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll play a key role in managing the delivery of engineering and technical activities, applying process, domain knowledge, and experience.
The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be responsible for effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers. Your day-to-day tasks will include:
- Ensuring procedures, codes, and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
- Contributing to Project Safety Assessment process.
- Communicating and managing task and project risks appropriately.
- Producing, reviewing, and approving calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports as assigned.
This role is full-time, 37 hours per week, and is based at Whitehaven, Cumbria. The role provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home.
Essential Experience
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll need:
- Experience in working collaboratively in multi-discipline teams to deliver activities on a range of project types.
- Demonstrable experience in covering a variety of tasks across a range of complexities.
- Good communication skills and the ability to interface with other disciplines.
Qualifications
You'll need a minimum HNC/HND in Engineering or equivalent experience in a relevant engineering discipline, with significant demonstrable experience.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
