Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

A highly skilled Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer is required to join our client's team in Northern England. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting technical changes to existing company products, including Defence and Weapons Systems.

The Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team and will be involved in the Mechanical Design, Tests and Trials. This is an excellent opportunity to shape the next generation of defence/weapons platforms and future technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing design evidence to justify safe and effective designs.
  • Specifying and assisting in the build of prototypes, products and systems.
  • Providing corrective actions on assigned defects and issues.
  • Ensuring commitments are agreed, reviewed and met.
  • Mentoring junior engineers.
  • Making presentations to technical and management audiences.
Requirements:
  • Educated to Degree level in Engineering, Mechanical or Science Subjects.
  • Ability to design documentation and present to customers and wider groups.
  • Ability to solve complex engineering calculations.
  • Engineering Lifecycle background.
  • Proficient in CAD, MS Office and comfortable with other IT applications.
