Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior/Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at an international Defence and Weapons Systems Company. This is an attractive opportunity for a mechanical engineer with a strong background in design, testing, and trials.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting technical changes to existing company products, developing design evidence, and specifying prototypes. They will also be involved in mentoring junior engineers and making presentations to technical and management audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing design evidence to justify safe and effective designs
  • Specifying and building prototypes, products, and systems for testing
  • Providing corrective actions on assigned defects and issues
  • Ensuring commitments are agreed, reviewed, and met
  • Mentoring junior engineers on technical matters
  • Making presentations to technical and management audiences

Requirements:

  • Degree-level education in Engineering, Mechanical, or Science subjects
  • Ability to design documentation and present to customers and wider groups
  • Complex engineering calculation skills
  • Engineering Lifecycle background
  • Proficiency in CAD, MS Office, and other IT applications
