About the Role

Mountain Healthcare is seeking a compassionate and skilled individual to fill the role of Sexual Offence Examiner in our Derby Sexual Assault Referral Centre. As a key member of our team, you will provide dedicated support and care to victims of sexual assault, working in partnership with external Multi-Disciplinary Teams and Police to ensure the best possible outcomes.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic to join our innovative and market-leading service provider, where you will receive full training and support to become a qualified Forensic Practitioner. With further opportunities to undertake additional higher education after one year in-post, you will have the chance to develop your skills and expertise in a rapidly growing career path.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct forensic examinations and obtain forensic exhibits, developing strategies according to FFLM guidelines.
  • Act as the first point of contact for victims, Police, and Social Services to discuss referral pathways, managing and promoting the self-referral pathway.
  • Undertake holistic assessments, including sexual health, mental health, and safeguarding, producing individual management plans and supporting the continued quality improvement of the service.
  • Work under the Forensic Science Regulator requirements, obtaining consent for Health and Forensic procedures.
Essential Skills
  • Qualified Registered Nurse, Midwife, or Paramedic.
  • A minimum of 3 years + relevant post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children and adults, confidentiality, and phlebotomy skills.
  • Experience of autonomous working and a UK driving license, with access to a vehicle.
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting required.
