- Manage and coordinate kitchen staff, providing guidance and training to maintain consistency in taste and presentation.
- Assist in maintaining kitchen cleanliness and hygiene, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Supervise the preparation and cooking of dishes, ensuring they meet established quality standards.
- Standardize recipes to maintain consistency in taste and presentation, and train kitchen staff on recipe adherence.
- Monitor and manage inventory levels of kitchen supplies and ingredients, assisting in ordering and receiving food and kitchen supplies.
- Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and prepared dishes, addressing and resolving any issues related to food quality.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff, including chefs and kitchen assistants, providing guidance on cooking techniques and safety procedures.
- Assist in controlling food and labor costs, minimizing wastage through effective portion control and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen, implementing and enforcing proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
- Work closely with the head chef to plan and execute special events or themed menus, communicating effectively to maintain a cohesive kitchen team.
- Address any kitchen-related issues promptly and effectively, making quick decisions during busy periods to maintain kitchen efficiency.
