Engineer for Modular Nuclear Systems

Assystem GmbH is seeking a talented Engineer for Modular Nuclear Systems to join our growing Fusion and Modular Nuclear (FMN) business unit. In this role, you will contribute to the development of innovative nuclear fusion technologies, helping to drive net-zero power generation.
Main Responsibilities:
- Create or coordinate the creation of artefacts such as operations concepts, functional architectures, requirement statements, verification plans, design risk assessments, and optioneering assessments.
- Support integrated technical management, including project risks, issues, assumptions, design configuration, and breakdown structure development.
- Respond to technical queries as required and liaise with disciplines to ensure coordinated design.
- Apply systems engineering best practices and approaches to grow the systems engineering capability within the team.
- Develop and propose an MBSE approach for the FMN team.
Benefits: We offer a competitive compensation package, including an estimated annual salary of $160,000 - $240,000, depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes equal treatment of candidates and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
Key Requirements:To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Degree-qualified or equivalent in Systems Engineering or other technical fields.
- A background in nuclear fusion, the nuclear sector, or regulated industries like thermal power generation or oil and gas.
- Extensive knowledge of power plant design, UK codes, standards, regulations, and operational requirements.
- Working experience of Health and Safety, Quality Assurance standards, CDM regulations, and NBS.
- Systems engineering experience across the full project life cycle.
- Proven ability to coordinate a skilled workforce to meet quality, safety, and performance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills and understanding of MBSE.
- The ability to work effectively with a multinational team.
