About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Technician to join our team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS FT. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our boiler plant and combined heat and power system.
Main Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain the boiler plant and combined heat and power system to ensure efficient and safe operation.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repair work on building services within the hospital site.
- Provide a flexible working arrangement to cover plant operation at all times, including working outside normal shifts and covering between shifts during periods of holidays and sickness.
- Carry out duties to the frequency laid down by the Supervisor or as the work arises, including replacing gauge glasses.

Person Specification
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a building services or engineering environment.
- Previous experience within a boiler house and/or industrial workshop environment.
- Possession of NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Engineering.
- City & Guilds Boiler Operatives Certificate.
- Ability to communicate with all team staff and members of the public, and customer ability to listen and learn from others.
- Able to demonstrate flexibility in the organisation and prioritisation of the work load to the changing needs of the service delivery.
