Candidate Profile
We seek individuals who demonstrate:
- Experience in Overhead Line maintenance or construction
- A valid, clean driving license
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Effective communication skills
- Team collaboration skills
- A commitment to safety, including the capability to work at heights
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including daytime, evening, and weekends
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor outdoors in all weather conditions
- Willingness to undergo medical assessments and drug testing as part of our safety protocols
Role Responsibilities
The Overhead Line Maintenance Technician is responsible for:
- Conducting repairs and maintenance on overhead lines, ensuring the reliability of our rail services
- Collaborating with team members to execute planned maintenance, respond to faults, and patrol the rail track
- Utilizing specialized tools and equipment, including earth poles and power hand tools, often while working at heights
- Assisting in the development of Overhead Operatives and supporting Team Leaders in executing maintenance tasks
- Working during off-peak hours to minimize disruption to rail services, with schedules provided four weeks in advance
