Propulsion Systems Engineer

About the Opportunity:
We're seeking an experienced Propulsion Systems Engineer to join our team at BAE Systems. As a key member of the Propulsion Electrical Commissioning Team, you will be responsible for commissioning the electrical power and distribution plant on the first-of-class Dreadnought submarines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deputise for the Commissioning Project Leader as required, including supervision of personnel on shift
- Instruct and mentor team members within your knowledge and competency
- Responsible for researching, authorizing, and reviewing design and test documentations to required standards
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure activities are undertaken safely and compliantly
- Keep accurate records of work activities as required by policy, procedure, and legislation
- Represent the company on Factory Acceptance Tests and other outworking requirements
Your Background:
- Experience leading complex Commissioning trials and test groups
- Degree/HNC/HND in Engineering discipline or equivalent experience
- Knowledge of AC and DC Electrical Generation and Power distribution systems
- Experience working with Distribution Systems, C&I, and Electrical Testing
- Knowledge of Instrumentation Systems including Electrostatic Discharge, Low Voltage Control, Data Communications, PLCs & Fibre Optics
- Detailed knowledge of Safety Control and Procedures in high-risk environments
