SENCO Leader for Inclusive Education

We are seeking an experienced SENCO to lead our SEN provision in a supportive and progressive environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all students with special educational needs receive the tailored support they require to thrive.
Position: SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Type: Fulltime Permanent
Location: Westminster London

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the SEN provision across the school, ensuring that all students with special educational needs receive appropriate support.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and work closely with staff to ensure strategies are effectively embedded in classroom practice.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external professionals to assess, plan, and monitor the progress of SEN students.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on SEN strategies, ensuring that the school is compliant with current SEN legislation and best practices.
- Coordinate with external agencies, such as speech and language therapists, educational psychologists, and other specialists, to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Oversee the SEN department, managing resources and ensuring that SEN interventions are targeted and effective.
- Monitor the progress of SEN students and provide regular updates to senior leadership and governors.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a SENCO qualification with experience leading SEN provision in a school setting.
- Strong understanding of current SEN legislation and best practices in supporting children with special educational needs.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with staff, parents, and external agencies.
- A compassionate, organized, and child-centered approach to education.
- A DBS check is required.
