London, Greater London, United Kingdom Prospero Teaching Full time

About the Role:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team. As a SENCO, you will play a vital role in shaping the future of inclusive education and making a real impact on the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement the SEN Development Plan, ensuring our school remains at the forefront of inclusive education and meets national, local, and school requirements.
• Identify and adopt effective teaching approaches for pupils with SEND, collaborating with teachers to tailor learning activities that meet individual needs and foster independence and academic growth.
• Lead the transition to the new SEND Code of Practice, providing training opportunities for teaching assistants, teachers, and other staff to ensure they are equipped to support pupils effectively.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with children, families, local authorities, and other professionals, liaising with the Governing Body to inform them of progress and ensure high standards across all key stages.
• Set challenging targets for pupils with SEND, ensuring early identification and intervention, and keep parents informed about their child's progress and work closely with them to support their development.

Why Join Our Team:

As a SENCO with Prospero Teaching, you will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative and inclusive school team, and larger organisation, that values diversity and prioritises the well-being of both staff and pupils. You will be part of a team that is committed to your continuous development, offering training and opportunities to expand your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• QTS is essential, NASENCO is preferred, but above all else, passion and commitment to inclusive practice is a must.
• A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to implement it effectively.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships with children, families, and other professionals.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

About Prospero Teaching:

Prospero Teaching is a market leader in education, dedicated to providing high-quality teaching and support services to schools and educational institutions. We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people, and we believe that every child deserves access to inclusive and high-quality education.
