About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled administrative professional to provide high-quality secretarial support to our doctors and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with a methodical approach to managing fluctuating workloads. They will also have experience working in a GP practice setting and be proficient in audio typing, Microsoft Office, and general IT skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Referrals: Generate NHS and private referrals, coordinate rejected referrals, and maintain data on referrals sent.
  • Correspondence: Provide efficient audio, copy typing, and word processing services for GPs and health professionals, including the typing of letters, reports, patient referrals, minutes, etc.
  • Non-NHS Business: Responsible for non-NHS medical reports from GPs, photocopying medical records and reports, and arranging appointments for patients to view notes and medical reports.
Person Specification
  • Ability to work as part of a team, self-motivated with the ability to use your own initiative.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Prioritisation and time management skills, with a flexible approach to work.
Requirements
  • NVQ level 3 in administration or RSA level III, proficient and accurate audio typing skills, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 60 wpm audio typing skills.
  • Previous experience working within a GP practice, understanding of Choose & Book referrals processes, locally commissioned services, and key functions of a secretarial role.
  • Excellent user of Microsoft Office and general IT skills.
Estimated Salary

£25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
