Our core values are 'Be open, be compassionate and be bold', which guide our team members in achieving our mission of helping people change their lives for the better.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Criminal Justice Recovery Specialist who will assess and engage with our service users, ensuring they access the right interventions at the right time. This role requires flexibility, curiosity, and excellent listening skills, as no two days are the same. Every individual is treated uniquely, and we strive to meet their specific needs.

The ideal candidate will work closely with our partners, such as HM Probation Service, Courts, Prisons, and Police, managing individuals subject to ATR and DRR Court Orders. Key responsibilities include:

  • Assessing suitability for CSTR (Community Sentence Treatment Requirements) in Court or over the telephone alongside Probation.
  • Providing screening, assessment, recovery planning, and onward referral.
  • Reducing drug and alcohol-related harm to service users and the wider community.
  • Promoting carer, service user, and community involvement.
  • Providing advocacy for access to partnership services.
  • Supporting social reintegration by enabling individuals to lead meaningful and purposeful lives, promoting recovery, resilience, peer support, and self-determination.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of substance misuse issues and experience working within a similar field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with good IT skills.
  • Proactivity and ability to work independently with excellent time management and prioritizing skills.
  • A good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in partnership with various professionals, agencies, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage change successfully, prioritizing the needs of service users.
  • Understanding of information governance processes and commitment to follow necessary safeguards.
  • A willingness to seek learning opportunities to improve and broaden your professional knowledge and skills, contributing to the learning and development of others.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,500 - £32,500 per annum, depending on experience, and a range of benefits, including:

  • A paid 'Wellness' hour each week, along with a 'Wellness' hub and Employee Assist Programme.
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, rising yearly for the first 5 years.
  • Contributory pension scheme.
  • Several discounts for shopping, cinema, holidays, and other benefits.
  • A friendly and supportive team.
  • Training, career development, and progression opportunities.
  • Refer a Friend scheme.

Please ensure that when completing your application form and supporting statement, you reflect on the details outlined in the job description, highlighting how your skills and experiences align with the requirements of the role.
