About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Phlebotomist to join our team at the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will work closely with our phlebotomy team to provide essential services within the Trust and the wider healthcare community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensuring patient comfort and confirming agreement for blood sample collection.
  2. Collection of samples in accordance with training and procedures.
  3. Accurate labelling of samples to confirm patient identity.
  4. Checking patient identification against GP/nurse request and confirming with patient whenever possible.
  5. Recording blood sample collection via electronic method.
  6. Dispatching samples to laboratories in a timely fashion.
  7. Reporting anomalies or incidents to senior staff.
  8. Liaising with laboratory staff.
Working Environment

The successful candidate will work across various locations, including The Countess of Chester Hospital, Ellesmere Port Hospital, and Tarporley War Memorial Hospital.

We offer a rotational shift pattern, with flexibility required to meet weekend duties.
