Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join our team in Devon. The successful candidate will have a postgraduate diploma in psychological therapies for children and young people and will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health services to this vulnerable population.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities, and will be able to provide evidence-based assessment and outcome-monitored interventions. They will also be able to work collaboratively with colleagues in a specialist pathway, building relationships and wider skills in working with children and young people with emotional and mental health needs in the community.

The postholder will be employed by Children and Family Health Devon on a substantive contract and will also be enrolled on a Postgraduate Diploma course with Exeter University. They will be required to study and perform at academic level and be prepared to work towards their studies outside of identified study time.

The successful candidate will be able to contribute to the multi-disciplinary approach of the team, providing integrated healthcare for children across Children and Family Health Devon. They will also be able to bring professional expertise, skills, and knowledge to multi-disciplinary teamwork, working with and offering supervision/consultation/advice to others.

Requirements:

  • Postgraduate diploma in psychological therapies for children and young people
  • Experience of working with children and young people with autism and/or learning disabilities
  • Ability to provide evidence-based assessment and outcome-monitored interventions
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
