Freelance Interpreter Job Description

We are looking for qualified freelance interpreters to work with our clients in various settings, including the NHS, Local Authorities, Police, Probation, and other public and private organizations.

As a freelance interpreter, you will be responsible for listening to, understanding, and reproducing speech in the target language with 100% accuracy. You will also be required to check the non-English speakers' understanding after each sentence and liaise between the service user and service provider.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpreting for people using legal, health, and local government services
  • Conference, consecutive, and public service interpreting
  • Dealing with highly confidential information
  • Liaising between the service user and service provider
Requirements:
  • Fluent in English and another language
  • All applicants must have the right to work in the UK
  • You must be aged 21 or over
  • Formal qualifications such as Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI), Community Interpreting, NRPSI, CIOL, ITI registered, or a Degree in Translation/Interpreting/Languages
