We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Tempest Resourcing Limited. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Mental Health (SEMH) by developing and implementing therapeutic programs that enhance their ability to participate in everyday school activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs, developing and implementing individualized intervention plans to support students' functional abilities in the school environment, and collaborating with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to identify students' occupational therapy needs and develop targeted intervention plans.
  • Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to support students' functional abilities in the school environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to integrate occupational therapy strategies into the classroom.
  • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
  • Monitor and document students' progress, adjusting intervention plans as necessary.
  • Educate and support staff and parents on strategies to assist students' development and well-being.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to discuss and review students' progress and needs.
  • Stay updated with the latest research and developments in occupational therapy and SEMH education.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with SEMH needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration and therapeutic strategies for SEMH students.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of students with SEMH needs.
