We have an exciting opportunity for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team at a highly regarded primary school in Lambeth.

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work alongside our teaching staff to provide individualised support to pupils with special educational needs. As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for assisting the teacher in planning and delivering activities, monitoring and assessing pupil progress, and providing support to pupils in a one-to-one or small group setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist the teacher in planning and delivering activities that meet the individual needs of pupils with special educational needs
  • To provide individualised support to pupils in a one-to-one or small group setting, as required
  • To monitor and assess pupil progress, and to contribute to the development of pupil learning plans
  • To work collaboratively with the teaching staff and other support staff to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum

Requirements

  • Experience of working with children with special educational needs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances
