About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team at a specialist SEND school in Lambeth.

The successful candidate will provide personalized support to students with ASD, PMLD, and SLD, helping them with their educational and social development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with ASD, PMLD, and SLD in their educational and social development
  • Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individual education plans (IEPs) and tailored learning strategies
  • Facilitate classroom activities, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment
  • Encourage and assist students in developing essential life skills and social interactions
  • Modify educational materials and approaches to meet the diverse needs of each student
  • Support children with personal care and toileting
Requirements
  • Proven experience working with children with ASD, SLD, and PMLD in a special educational needs setting
  • A genuine passion for supporting the development and well-being of students
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or special educational needs are desirable but not essential
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
