London, Greater London, United Kingdom ROYAL BOROUGH OF KENSINGTON AND CHELSEA Full time

Job Title: In House Sustainability Project Coordinator

Job Reference: Not specified

Contract Type: Temporary up to 14 months

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, dynamic and motivated individual to take lead responsibility for the successful project management and delivery of one of London's most current flagship sustainability programmes.

As the Notting Dale Future Neighbourhoods 2030 Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in transforming Notting Dale into an eco-neighbourhood.

You will oversee the delivery of various environmental projects, monitoring key outcomes and milestones. These projects span the entire sustainability spectrum, from energy retrofitting and solar PV installations to active travel initiatives, greening projects, food growing and gardening, upcycling, circular economy projects, and green skills training.

Community engagement and co-design are central to this role. You'll support the finalisation and implementation of a community-led environmental strategy for Notting Dale, as well as engagement and co-design activities for individual projects.

This includes organising events, consultations, and raising awareness of the programme through in-person engagement, partnerships, and communication platforms at the local and London-wide level.

Building strong internal and external partnerships will be essential in successfully delivering the Notting Dale Future Neighbourhoods 2030 programme. You will work with a wide range of stakeholders and local partners, community organisations, Resident Associations and businesses, putting the needs of residents first.

As the project lead, you'll facilitate and chair internal project and Board meetings, support with running the Notting Dale Future Neighbourhoods 2030 Steering Group, and ensure a transparent approach to record keeping and reporting is maintained at all times.

We are looking for an established professional with experience in a relevant environmental specialism or a relevant subject such as project management and community engagement.

You'll have an excellent understanding of sustainability issues, climate change and carbon reduction, delivering projects and programmes effectively and efficiently and communicating and engaging with a wide range of audiences.

You'll be able to demonstrate an understanding of the community needs and challenges working in diverse urban areas, and you'll have the ability to learn quickly, think on your feet, and grasp complex concepts.

With experience of supplier and contract management, you'll be capable of establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, and organisations across all levels of the Council and beyond.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a vibrant and dynamic team dedicated to supporting and inspiring local climate action and making a difference.

Please apply online explaining how you meet the requirements set out in the person specification and job description.
