Job Title: Senior Supervisor - Market Abuse Surveillance

Join the Financial Conduct Authority as a Senior Supervisor - Market Abuse Surveillance and play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of the UK's financial markets.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic team that is responsible for combating market abuse in secondary markets. As a Senior Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising firms' and trading venues' market abuse surveillance arrangements, ensuring they have effective systems and controls in place to detect and report potential market abuse.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the Secondary Market Oversight Department's market abuse surveillance activities, including leading visits to firms and trading venues to assess their arrangements.
  • Work with other FCA teams to assess new trading venues and benchmark applications, ensuring proposed surveillance processes and procedures comply with relevant legislation.
  • Analyse internal surveillance output to identify potential market abuse and refer suspicious activity to relevant FCA teams for review.
  • Contribute to the development of internal market abuse surveillance systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Liaise with industry participants, including delivering presentations and written communications to highlight market abuse surveillance issues.
  • Provide input into proposed policy initiatives related to market abuse surveillance.
