Job Overview

Sodexo is seeking a skilled Cleaning Senior Supervisor to join our team at George Watson's College in Edinburgh. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the site's overall appearance is maintained to the highest standards.

Your primary focus will be on providing outstanding cleaning services, ensuring the surroundings are safe and hygienic for everyone. You will train and guide cleaning staff on best practices, assign duties, and inspect work areas to guarantee compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team. You will also be proficient in using cleaning equipment and have a strong understanding of safety precautions.

As a Cleaning Senior Supervisor, you will be an essential part of our team, working closely with other departments to address specialized cleaning needs and resolve facility-related issues promptly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Train and provide guidance to cleaning staff on cleaning techniques, use of equipment, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Assign cleaning duties, inspect work areas regularly to ensure cleanliness, and report any issues to the appropriate department.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels of cleaning supplies, equipment, and other related materials.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance with sanitation and safety guidelines.
  • Perform administrative duties, including scheduling, attendance management, performance evaluations, and handling personnel matters.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, to address specialized cleaning needs and resolve any facility-related issues promptly.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity while maintaining a high level of cleanliness.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, and visitors, responding promptly and effectively to cleanliness-related concerns or inquiries.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a cleaning supervisor, preferably in an educational or institutional setting.
  • Solid knowledge of cleaning and sanitation practices, equipment, and chemicals.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work well under pressure.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are needed to effectively interact with staff, students, and visitors.
  • Proficiency in using cleaning equipment and knowledge of safety precautions while operating them.
