Supervising Social Worker Role

We are seeking an experienced Supervising Social Worker to join our team in Blackburn. As a key member of our parenting assessment unit, you will play a vital role in supporting parents and their children.

About the Role

This is a rare opportunity to work in a stable team with a small, consistent caseload, enabling you to build long-term relationships with families and other professionals. Your duties will include:

  • Managing a caseload of 6 cases at any one time, requiring resilience and effective time management
  • Completing assessments and reports within deadlines, utilizing your expertise in the psychodynamic framework
  • Chairing meetings and liaising with other professionals to maintain good working relationships
  • Leading parenting programs and producing statements for court
  • Securing placement planning meetings and achieving the best outcomes for children and families
  • Undertaking statutory duties in accordance with National Standards and Regulations
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A degree or equivalent in social work
  • 2 years of post-qualifying experience
  • Current SWE registration
  • Experience in undertaking specialist PAM assessments and using the psychodynamic framework
  • Knowledge and experience in parenting programs and safeguarding
  • Experience in giving evidence in court
