About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our Child Protection Team at Blackburn Council. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of children's needs, including risk assessments and analysis of parenting capacity.
  • Develop and implement effective intervention plans to address identified concerns and improve outcomes for children and families.
  • Provide direct support to children and families, offering guidance, advice, and access to appropriate services and resources.
  • Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as social workers, therapists, and legal representatives, to ensure coordinated and holistic support for families.
  • Prepare high-quality reports and attend court hearings, presenting evidence and recommendations in a clear and professional manner.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of all work and maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
