About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Electrical and Electronics Engineer to join our team at Babcock International Group. As a Principal Electrical and Electronics Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of Electrical and Electronic aspects of marine system design, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement Electrical and Electronic engineering design solutions for a variety of different platforms across the full Engineering Lifecycle.
  • Provide electrical and electronic design support by preparing and checking design documentation, reviews, estimates, and schedules.
  • Supervise, plan, and control work to time, cost, and quality.
  • Produce and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports.

Requirements

  • High level of developed knowledge and experience in Electrical and Electronic engineering design.
  • Proven experience in overseeing projects and skilled in supporting and developing less experienced team members.
  • Experience working on UK naval marine shipbuilding projects or defence-related design experience is beneficial.
  • Experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment.
  • Proven experience of relevant industry standards.
  • Experience of all phases of the engineering lifecycle and configuration control systems.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level, or HNC/HND equivalent, coupled with significant experience in the relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ideal candidate will be a member of a relevant institution and hold or working towards Chartered or Incorporated status.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
