Babcock International Group is seeking a highly skilled Principal EC&I Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering electrical and electronic aspects of marine system design, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

The Role:

As a Principal EC&I Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead intricate electrical and electronic projects, working closely with a dynamic and engaging team. You will be responsible for:

  • Developing electrical and electronic engineering design solutions for various platforms across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Providing electrical and electronic design support, including preparing and checking design documentation, reviews, estimates, and schedules.
  • Supervising, planning, and controlling work to time, cost, and quality.
  • Producing and approving calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports.

This is a full-time role, working 36 hours per week, with hybrid working arrangements, including 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. The role can be based at our Bristol, Devonport, or Rosyth sites.

Essential Experience:

  • You will have a high level of developed knowledge and experience in electrical and electronic design, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
  • Experience working on UK naval marine shipbuilding projects or defence-related design experience is beneficial, but not essential.
  • Experience of operating in a defence or high-safety integrity environment is essential.
  • Proven experience of relevant industry standards and all phases of the engineering lifecycle is required.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND equivalent, coupled with significant experience in the relevant engineering discipline.
  • Ideal candidates will be members of a relevant institution and hold or be working towards Chartered or Incorporated status.

Security Clearance:

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
