Job Summary

The Perse School Cambridge is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Development Lead to drive our athletic development programs forward. As a key figure in our PE department, you will design, deliver, and evaluate programs that enhance student athletic performance.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the planning, delivery, and assessment of athletic development programs across all age groups.
  2. Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Sport (Performance) to create tailored training programs for gifted and talented pupils.
  3. Implement a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for our sports teams, focusing on injury prevention and improved performance.
  4. Conduct regular reviews of athletic development modules within the PE curriculum, making recommendations for improvement.
  5. Develop and deliver workshops for staff and students, covering topics such as injury prevention, nutrition, and mental preparation.
  6. Work closely with external organizations to ensure our programs align with national standards and best practices.
  7. Lead department inset training for colleagues, sharing your expertise and supporting their professional growth.
  8. Contribute to departmental meetings and decision-making processes.
  9. Participate in weekend fixtures, either as a coach or in a support role.
Requirements
  • Hold current UKSCA accreditation or be on the path to achieving it.
  • Demonstrate extensive experience working in athletic development roles within schools or clubs.
  • Stay updated on child protection and safeguarding policies.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with colleagues, promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
  • Motivate and engage students in athletic activities, encouraging them to reach their full potential.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Showcase administrative capabilities and technical competence.
  • Acknowledge and respect diverse experiences, ideas, and backgrounds.
  • Balance individual initiative with teamwork, ensuring cohesive departmental efforts.
