Prevention of Homelessness in Westminster

iPeople Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Professional to join our team based in London to work in the Prevention of Homelessness in Westminster.
The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Head of Accommodation to reduce clients occupying high-cost nightly booked Temporary Accommodation (TA) and enable move-on to alternative provision. Exceptional customer care skills, delivered through a compassionate and empathy-focused approach, are essential for success in this role.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a comprehensive background working in Homelessness and the legal aspects of this work, including housing duty investigations and applications, decisions, and duties owed to applicants under Part VII Housing Act 1996. The ideal candidate will have experience providing advice and assistance on homelessness prevention, supporting service-users to seek professional and medical help where necessary, and managing all aspects of homelessness management, legal evictions, and support for those in financial crisis.
We are looking for someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to form effective working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including partner organizations internal and external to Westminster such as Family Services, Adult Social Care, Domestic Violence professionals, Police, Housing Benefits, Neighbourhood Teams, Home Office, Landlords, Solicitors, etc.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent homelessness and reduce TA occupancy.
- Work closely with the Head of Accommodation to manage homeless services and ensure effective delivery of outcomes.
- Provide exceptional customer care and support to service-users, including advice and assistance on homelessness prevention and access to alternative provision.
- Maintain accurate records and reports, including data analysis and insights to inform service development.
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in Homelessness and related fields, including housing duty investigations and applications, decisions, and duties owed under Part VII Housing Act 1996.
- Strong knowledge of homelessness legislation, policies, and procedures, including the Housing Act 1996 and associated regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to form effective working relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze data and provide insights to inform service development and improvement.
