Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Scientist to join our Nuclear Medicine team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a Clinical Scientist, you will play a crucial role in providing scientific and technical support to our nuclear medicine services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical physics and nuclear medicine, with experience in diagnostic imaging and radiation protection. You will be responsible for leading the implementation and optimization of nuclear medicine imaging, including CT in SPECT/CT, and participating in the delivery of clinical nuclear medicine services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide scientific and technical support to nuclear medicine services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of nuclear medicine imaging, including CT in SPECT/CT.
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical nuclear medicine services, including patient care and radiation protection.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of the department's quality system.
  • Participate in audit, research, development, and implementation programs, in conjunction with clinical scientists and other healthcare professionals.

Requirements:

  • BSc Honours degree in Physics, Medical Physics, or a related field.
  • Masters degree in Medical Physics, Medical Imaging, or a related field.
  • HCPC Registered Clinical Scientist.
  • RPA2000 Certified Medical Physics Expert (MPE) in Nuclear Medicine.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Desirable Criteria:

  • PhD in a related field.
  • Corporate IPEM membership.
  • Chartered Scientist (CSi).
  • Post-graduate research expertise in a related field.
  • RPA 2000 certification for RWA.
  • RPA certification for RPA.
