Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join our Power Grids Market within the Net Zero Energy Business. This position would be based in Glasgow or Birmingham, with a flexible mixture of home-working and office/site collaboration time expected.

The UK is the first major economy to legislate for a Net Zero target by 2050. To achieve this, our Energy Teams ensure a mix of secure and sustainable energies that can meet our industry and lifestyle demands today, and in 30 years' time.

Your Purpose:

You will work within our Power Grids Market, predominantly on substation projects for key clients. Examples of your work may include:
  • Providing input to and supporting Project Managers to coordinate and progress project engineering deliverables.
  • Coordinating and gathering project engineering input from subject matter experts and individual discipline engineering teams.
  • Integration/coordination of engineering activities across multi-discipline design projects.
  • Management of technical requirements from concept to detail design and delivery, including application of strong change control and risk management.

This role requires experience of being involved in engineering projects, delivering to time, cost, quality, and safety. You should have a degree or HNC/HND in a related engineering-based discipline (preference for electrical bias) and experience of project engineering, planning, and delivery, engineering design, and working with design teams. Management of multiple stakeholders and a strong quality, safety, security, and environmental focus are also essential. Additionally, knowledge of CDM regulations, understanding, and identifying project risks are necessary. Commercial awareness is required for this position.

We offer a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as benefits such as flexible working arrangements, employee networks, and family-friendly policies.
